The Ecological and Environmental Economics (EEE) Programme, a joint programme of the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the Beijer International Institute of Ecological Economics, is organising the 1st Teaching Workshop on Environmental Economics for the Middle East and North Africa. The workshop is organized in co-operation with the Middle East and North Africa Network of Environmental Economists (MENANEE). It will be held in the ICTP in Trieste, Italy, from December 5-16, 2005. The objective of this workshop is to give the participants a good background in the theory of environmental and resource economics and in application techniques in this specific field. The Course is targeted to graduates in economics and preferably with some post-graduate level training in economics or relevant fields who are based in Middle-Eastern and Northern African countries, and in particular in Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen. |
